Jane Shankster

My childhood was spent in my parents’ garden and exploring the West Berkshire countryside on foot and by bike. After moving to London making gardens and spending time outside eventually seemed more meaningful than a career as a Chartered Accountant.

I trained at Merrist Wood College with Andrew Wilson MBE, graduating with distinction. I have been working as a garden designer since 2005 and I am a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers. I also volunteer as a gardener in my local park.

Arthur Road Landscapes

Arthur Road Landscapes has been in business since 2005. Although I design the gardens I cannot realise them without working closely with other people. Over the years I have built up a dependable team of collaborators to construct the hard landscaping, help with the planting and continue the service with regular or occasional garden maintenance.

I am pleased to have won many Best of Houzz awards over the years, including most recently in 2026.
