This substantial garden includes a large kitchen garden with a greenhouse and raised vegetable beds. It is divided from the main garden with a traditional white picket fence to keep the produce safe from the dog. The main part of the garden includes a substantial terrace with space for a firepit, hammock and lounge chairs. It is separated from the house by a lawn flanked by elegant borders of roses, bulbs and richly coloured perennials. The steps to the dining room and sitting room were made wider and more uniform.

Previously a neglected space dominated by an unruly lawn and a disused swimming pool, the garden has been reimagined as a series of connected outdoor rooms. A generous dining terrace sits beneath a mature olive tree and canvas parasol, while a corten steel firepit and Adirondack chairs create a more informal gathering spot against a warm brick wall.

The borders tie it all together — tulips and bulbs in spring, giving way to salvia, echinacea and sanguisorba through summer, with a fig tree fan-trained against the house framing the French doors. New bull-nosed stone steps replace the old uneven paving, lending the house's elevation a quiet formality that carries through to the garden beyond.
